Mark Andrew is a multi-disciplinary artist who works in various mediums to create works of sculpture, installation, and video art.

Andrew explores the external events that shape our collective lives — universal traumas, physical or psychological abuse, natural disasters, or climate change. Inspiration comes from that intersection where pop culture, beauty and ugliness collide.

Andrew grew up in the small city of Omaha, Nebraska. Many of his works have a pop sensibility as he was obsessed with pop culture as a kid and watched a lot of TV shows and movies.

Andrew makes installation pieces that allow him to teleport his viewers into an environment like a TV or movie set. He utilizes readymade objects because he enjoys the fact that they are mass-produced, readily available, artificial, and universal objects that elicit a shared sense of nostalgia. Many of the objects that Andrew works with were previously owned by someone else, which then becomes a collaboration with those people whom he calls “ghosts.”
